RULES & FAQS

Good, Clean Fun is a speed- and precision-based Espresso Martini competition, where competitors wear a white t-shirt, step behind a pristine bar station, and make the quickest round of Dry Espresso Martinis they can while staying as clean as possible!
-
There are dozens of local Good, Clean Fun competitions throughout the U.S. Every local event winner will have the opportunity to compete in one of two championship events (locations tbd). The top three competitors in the championship events will win a trip with the Absolut Akademi, which includes visiting the Absolut distillery in Åhus, Sweden and the Absolut headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden! The championship’s fourth place finishers will receive a scholarship to attend Tales of the Cocktail 2026 in New Orleans.

Each venue will provide all competitors with a full set of tools, ingredients, cheater bottles, product, and glassware to make their Dry Espresso Martinis. Every competitor will also receive a fresh white Good, Clean Fun t-shirt and gridded white towel.
Aside from the shirt and towel, competitors are not required to use all the provided equipment. Free pouring is permissible, so long as competitors are pouring no more than 1.5 oz. of Absolut and 0.75 oz. of Kahlúa per cocktail.
Competitors will be provided with all bar tools, product, glassware, ice, and all ingredients to make their cocktails for their competitions. There is no need to bring any equipment, as competitors will not be permitted to use their own tools at the event.
-
Judges will record every competitor's time from the moment the countdown ends to when they raise their hands above their head, indicating they're finished. Performance will be further assessed on the following criteria:
Do all four drinks look and taste like Espresso Martinis?
Do they reach the required washline?
Is there foam?
Is there a three espresso bean garnish?
Does it taste like the provided recipe?
Is it cold?
Are there spills or stains on the white t-shirt or towel?
Time penalties will be issued if any of the criteria are not met. In the event of a tie, the final two competitors will be asked to face-off and make two more Dry Espresso Martinis, following the same rules.
